FIFA: 64th congress in Sao Paulo on 10 and 11/06/2014; Blatter expected to announce candidacy

The 64th annual congress of FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) will be held in Sao Paulo (BRA) on 10 and 11/06/2014, before the opening of the World Cup (12/06 to 13/07/2014). It will bring together the representatives of the 209 national federations affiliated with FIFA.

FIFA will present its activity report and its 2013 financial report on 11/06/2014. Also on the agenda: the reform of FIFA's system for players' agents, the ownership of players by third parties, Israeli-Palestinian relations, the football situations in Kosovo and Cyprus, the fight against discrimination and racism, and the problem of match-fixing.

Setting an age and term limits for FIFA leaders is also in the program. Joseph Blatter, FIFA's president since 08/06/1998, said he was convinced, in an interview with News Tank on 28//04/2014, that the congress in Sao Paulo would not set any age limits. "I do not know with what percentage of votes, but the age limit will be rejected," he said.
