LFP TV rights: Canal+ and beIN do not participate in the call for tenders, offer from J-M Roussier

The pay-TV groups Canal+ and beIN Sports France did not participate in the LFP's "flash" call for tenders on Monday 01/02/2021, according to French media. Jean-Michel Roussier, deputy consulting director of Téléfoot, the French pay channel of the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, has made an offer in his own name, according to L'Equipe. Radio France reports offers from five candidates.

"We have confidence in the leaders of the LFP and its president, Vincent Labrune. Everything will be decided this week. We are there to help the clubs, even to reform if necessary. Everyone needs to reform. We are there to support and we are also there to defend our position. We too are a French company, even though we are present in 40 countries around the world. We are also there to justify each expense to our shareholder," stated Gérald Brice-Viret, managing director of the Canal+ group's branches, on Europe 1 radio on Monday 01/02/2021 (before the submission of offers).
