Red Card 2021: the Premier League, the most popular league in China for the third consecutive year

The Premier League is the most popular European League on social networks in China, according to the "Red Card 2021" report by the Mailman Group, a Chinese agency that analyses and manages the digital presence of brands on the Internet, published on 28/01/2021. The English League was also ranked first in the 2019 and 2020 editions of the Red Card report.

The Top 3 of 2021 is identical to that of 2020. The Premier League is ahead of LaLiga Santander (2^nd) and the Bundesliga (3^rd), while the German league had dominated the ranking from 2015 to 2018. The Ligue 1 Uber Eats is 4^th, while the Serie A TIM closes the ranking in 5^th position. It should be noted that the latter did not launch official accounts on the Chinese social networks Weibo and Douyin/TikTok until December 2020.

"The Premier League is leading in every single category of the Red Card 2021 performance metrics, clearly showcasing its popularity as the #1 league (in China)," states the report.
