The various partnerships with FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) for 2011-2014 are expected to generate more than €1.1bn in marketing revenue. This amount represents an increase of 39% over the period 2007-2010, which generated €791m. FIFA's six major partners each pay an estimated average of €22m per year as part of their relationship with the 2014 World Cup.

Each of the federations in the 2014 World Cup have an average of 12 sponsors excluding kit supplier contracts. 75% of the 2014 World Cup selections are backed by automakers. This sector is the most involved in the 381 sponsorship contracts signed by the 32 Federations.

69% of teams' sponsors (excluding kit suppliers) hail from the same country as the team they are sponsoring. For Asia (Australia, South Korea, Japan and Iran), that percentage rises to 89%; it is 74% in Europe, 59% in Africa and 58% in South America and in CONCACAF countries (North America, Central America and the Caribbean).
