LaLiga Santander: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts of the 20 clubs (February 2021)

The 20 clubs in the 2020-21 LaLiga Santander have 531 million fans on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/02/2021. This total makes the Spanish first division the second most popular European Top 5 league on the three social networks combined, behind the Premier League, with an average of 26.5 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF is the most popular Spanish club with nearly 242 million fans, while FC Barcelona, second, with a total of nearly 232 million, are ahead of Club Atlético de Madrid in third place with 29.5 million.

FC Barcelona posted the best growth in absolute value across the three social networks in January with an additional 1.3 million fans in total, 67% of which were on Instagram. No other club from the European Top 5 performed better during the period.

In terms of percentage, Getafe CF posted the best growth among the clubs of the Spanish league on Twitter over the period (+14%). Meanwhile, Athletic Club Bilbao posted the best percentage growth on Instagram (+6.8%) and promoted side Cádiz CF on Facebook (+5.1%)
