75% of the 2014 World Cup selections are backed by automakers. This sector is the most represented among the 381 sponsorship contracts signed by the 32 federations playing in Brazil.

Selections have an average of 12 sponsors (not including kit suppliers). In addition to the automotive industry, the most represented sectors are telecommunications (72%), banks (66%), brewers (59%) and soft drinks and energy drinks (53%). Eight of the 13 European teams are linked to beer brands.

Food brands, insurance companies and retail sectors are each present in about half (47%) of federations' sponsorship rosters. Some selections are even connected to several food brands, such as Italy (with four) and Mexico (with three).
