69% of 2014 World Cup sponsors hail from the nation they are sponsoring

69% of 2014 World Cup federation sponsors (excluding kit suppliers) are from the same country as the team they are sponsoring. For the four selections from the Asian zone (Australia, South Korea, Iran and Japan), the percentage reaches 89%. Ranked according to these criteria, three of the top five selections are Asian: Iran (100%), South Korea (91%), and Japan (90%).

The European zone's percentage is 74%. Italy are the continent's top scorer, with 94% of the selection's sponsors hailing from Italy itself, including Fiat (automaker), Tim (telecommunications) and Alitalia. England, on the other hand, come in 30th out of the 32 teams; the majority of their sponsors are foreign (56%), including the Korean group Samsung (electronics) and the Danish brewer Carlsberg.

The South American region and CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) countries have 58% national partners.
