esports: AS Monaco and Gambit Esports (RUS) create a joint team for Dota 2 and Fortnite

AS Monaco FC (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) has teamed up with the Russian organisation Gambit Esports (based in London, ENG) to create a joint team of eight players on the video games Dota 2 (published by Valve Corporation) and Fortnite (published by Epic Games), under the name "AS Monaco Gambit", announced the club on 09/02/2021.

Since 2018, Gambit Esports has been owned by "Russia's leading telecommunications operator" Mobile TeleSystems (MTS). "AS Monaco becomes the first football club to enter this major esports discipline which is popular among hundreds of millions of gamers around the world," said the club, which also has esports teams on FIFA 2021 (published by EA Sports), eFootball PES 2021 (Konami) and Street Fighter 2 (Capcom) for the 2020-21 season.
