Italy: Sky Italia acquires TV rights to the Europa League and Europa Conference League 2021-2024

The free and pay TV operator Sky Italia has acquired the broadcasting rights to the Europa League and the future Europa Conference League, in Italy, for the 2021-2024 cycle, on 05/02/2021.

Sky Italia already holds the rights to the Europa League for the current cycle (2018-2021) and broadcasts one game per matchday free-to-air (contractual obligation with UEFA) on its DTT channel TV8.

The rights to the Champions League for the 2021-2024 cycle have been allocated in Italy as follows:

• Amazon has acquired the broadcasting rights for the Wednesday evening fixture (16 matches + the UEFA Super Cup) for an estimated €80m per season.
• Mediaset has recovered the Tuesday evening fixture (16 matches), for free-to-air broadcasting, for an estimated €45m per year
• Sky Italia has acquired the rights to all matches (except those on Amazon) for an amount exceeding €100m per season.
• The OTT platform DAZN and the public audiovisual group RAI, also candidates, were not awarded any of the lots.
