UEFA: TikTok (CHN), the first social network to become an official partner of a Euro tournament

TikTok (Douyin in Asia), a Chinese social network available in more than 150 countries and in 75 languages, has become an official partner and "global sponsor" of Euro 2020 (postponed until 2021), announced the video sharing platform on 11/02/2021.

"This is the first time a digital entertainment platform has sponsored a major international tournament for UEFA and represents an exciting step for both TikTok and UEFA, bringing a new kind of partner to Euro 2020," said the European body, which will also be launching its own official account on TikTok before the competition.

"TikTok is fast becoming a home of fandom for football culture, a place where our community can follow their favourite football creators, create their own moments, reactions and celebrations around games, as well as sharing the best TikTok football content. As part of our partnership with UEFA we'll be able to launch a range of exciting features including AR effects, Hashtag Challenges, TikTok LIVEs and Sounds for our community, so that creators can recreate, celebrate and amplify the action on the pitch.
