Ligue 2 BKT: beIN Sports France will broadcast all matches until the end of the 2020-21 season

The pay-TV group beIN Sports France will broadcast exclusively, in France, all the matches of Ligue 2 BKT 2020-21, from Matchday 25 until the end of the season, announced the Qatari media group, on 11/02/2021.

Already holder of the two Ligue 2 BKT games per matchday for the 2020-2024 cycle (for around €30m per season), beIN Sports France has acquired via sub-license from Canal+ the broadcasting rights for the eight games of the Ligue 2 BKT matchday multiplex (Saturdays at 19:00 CET) for the end of the 2020-21 season. These rights, initially held by Mediapro for the 2020-2024 cycle for an estimated amount of €34m per season, were acquired by Canal+ as part of its agreement with the LFP on 04/02/2021.

Canal+ has committed to pay €200m at the beginning of February to the LFP (€165m for the deadlines of Lot 3 initially scheduled for 05/02, 05/04 and 05/06/2021 + €35m for the rights initially held by Mediapro for the end of the 2020-21 season) and to finance the production costs of the eight matches of the Ligue 2 BKT multiplex.
