Germany: DFL to create an "interdisciplinary advisory board" comprising of external experts

The DFL executive committee will create an "interdisciplinary advisory board" comprising of external experts "to oversee the ongoing implementation process" after a report from the "Future of Professional Football" task force was submitted on 03/02/2021, announced the German Professional League on 10/02/2021. The report contains 17 proposals (see below) and a projection for 2030 in terms of sport, social anchoring and sustainable development.

The DFL also wants to set up "a working group to boost the financial stability of professional football. There are also plans to convene a special session of the executive committee of the DFL in the near future to focus exclusively on this issue, where further potential steps are expected to be prioritised," explained the body.

On 16/09/2020, the German professional football league announced the creation of a task force consisting of "37 experts from the fields of sport, society, science, politics and business reflecting on past developments, discussing interdisciplinary matters and eventually devising practical ways forward."
