Covid-19 / Sevilla FC: Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán to be used as a vaccination center

The Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán (43,000 seats), where Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander) plays, will be used by the Spanish health authorities as a vaccination center against Covid-19, announced the Andalusian club on 12/02/2021.

"A few months ago, we proposed to the Andalusian health authorities to use the stadium to carry out this very important health mission. The health authorities have indicated that if they move around 100 nurses to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, they could vaccinate about 26,000 people each day. This represents 260 vaccines per nurse, the maximum total vaccinations that a nurse can achieve in a day's work," said the Spanish club.

Estadio La Cartuja (Seville, ESP), which does not have a resident club, has also been designated as a vaccination center against Covid-19.

• The use of sports enclosures is part of the Andalusian authorities' plan to vaccinate 500,000 people per week from 22/02/2021, with the objective of achieving vaccination of 70% of the region's population before summer 2021.
