Liga: Power8 partners with Espanyol and acquires naming rights to stadium

Power8, a British company providing IT solutions for betting operators, has become a major partner of Espanyol (14^th in Liga in 2013-14) and acquired the naming rights to their stadium through 2020-21, the club announced on 13/06/2014.

The Cornellà-El Prat Stadium (capacity 40,500), inaugurated in 2009 and crowned "best sports venue in the world" in 2010, will be renamed "Power8 Stadium" beginning with the 2014-15 Liga season. Power8 will get top visibility in the stadium.

"Leasing the naming rights to our stadium was one of the main strategic objectives of the club. This agreement is an example of the different financial options available to Espanyol," said Joan Collet, the president of Espanyol, on 13/06/2014, on Espanyol TV, the club's TV channel.

• Power 8 is also partnered with Everton (Premier League) for the 2014-15 season and Fulham FC (Premier League) since 2013-14.
• Aside from Espanyol matches, the Cornellà-El Prat Stadium hosts hundreds of business events per year.
