Serie A TIM TV rights (2021-2024): DAZN joins forces with Telecom Italia (TIM) for its offer

The operator Telecom Italia (whose brand TIM holds the naming rights to the Serie A TIM) is providing technological and financial support to the OTT platform DAZN for the domestic broadcasting rights to the Serie A TIM, over the 2021-2024 cycle. This information, revealed by the news agency Reuters on 22/02/2021, was confirmed the same day by Telecom Italia, which specified two points in a press release:

- "Telecom Italia is not among the participants in the tender launched by Lega Serie A.
- Telecom Italia has signed an agreement to extend the distribution contract already in place, also in economic terms, in the event that the rights from this tender are awarded to DAZN. Under this agreement, TIM would qualify as the reference telephone and pay-TV operator for the DAZN content offer in Italy as well as for the technological partnership. The collaboration would start in July 2021 and would include all of DAZN's live and on-demand sports content offer."
