Formula E: 2021 TV rights acquired by Sky Italia in Italy and the BBC in the UK

The pay and free TV group Sky Italia has acquired the broadcasting rights of the Formula E for Italy, San Marino and the Vatican as part of a "multi-year deal," according to Formula E, the organising body of the electric car racing world championship, on 22/02/2021.

"Sky Italia will run comprehensive coverage of each race from the start of this season, including live coverage of all qualifying and race sessions, supported by year-round news and editorial content across Sky Sports 24 and Sky Sports digital platforms," explained Formula E, whose championship, which starts in Diriyah (Saudi Arabia), with two night races on 26 and 27/02/2021, is already broadcast free-to-air in Italy via Mediaset.

In the UK, the public broadcasting group BBC extended its TV rights to the Formula E circuit for 2020-21, on 19/02/2021.
