"We lost €40m last year (2019-20), we just lost €50m in the first half (of 2020-21): these are losses, if our economic model were not resilient, it could put us in real difficulty. Our model can help us get through the health crisis, provided it does not last too long. We must not give lessons, and say that whatever happens we will always be here, because if the crisis lasted three years, this model would also go by the wayside," said Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), in an interview with the Frech daily L'Equipe on 24/02/2021.

"I remain reasonable, because I do not see how Paris Saint-Germain could lose, given its financial power. We have in Lille a vulture fund (the American investment fund Eliott Management Corporation), a PSG with an overpowered Qatar, and a Monaco run by Russian investors with taxation and social charges no where close to ours. So I tell myself that it would still be funny, being French and a local entrepreneur, to manage to beat these big powers," added the Lyon president, while there is a four-team fight for the 2020-21…
