Germany/stadiums: sport and culture unite around a concept aimed at the gradual return of spectators

20 renowned experts and scientists from various disciplines (infectiology, virology, ventilation, health, medicine, sport, law... see list below) have developed a common concept for a controlled and progressive return of spectators to stadiums and venues deserted because of the Covid-19 pandemic, announced the DFL on 22/02/2021.

This approach (see below) presents different models for indoor and outdoor events. Each model is based on a basic concept which can then be extended in order to gradually increase the number of spectators per event (document, in German, available to download).

The initiative is supported by more than 40 German institutions and organisations from the fields of culture and sport (see list below), including - on the sports side - the DFB, the Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, the professional handball (DHB/HBL), basketball (DBB/BBL) and volleyball (DVV/VBL) federations and leagues, as well as the Olympiapark in Munich (GER).
