FIBA: broadcast agreement with Twitch for several competitions, including Women's EuroLeague

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the streaming platform Twitch have forged a partnership "of several years" for the broadcasting of several competitions, announced the international basketball body on 24/02/2021.

The broadcast agreement between FIBA and Twitch includes all 3v3 basketball competitions of the federation, the Women's EuroLeague and some youth tournaments, as well as "highlights and delayed coverage of the national team competitions and other FIBA club as well as youth tournaments". This agreement will begin in spring 2021.

“FIBA will broadcast around 600 hours of live basketball games each year to its own Twitch channel as well as other unique programming formats, which are specifically developed to leverage Twitch's unique interactive tools and features. Fans will be allowed to produce FIBA-related content on their own Twitch channels since FIBA is one of the few rights-holders in global sport to give access to official footage to Twitch creators," said the international confederation.
