Borussia Dortmund: a turnover of €177.4m and net loss of €26.2m for the first half of 2020-21

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) has posted a turnover of €177.4m for the first half of the 2020-21 financial year (from 01/07/2020 to 31/12/2020), down 25% compared with the first six months of the 2019-20 financial year (€236.6m), according to the club, which published its "Half-Yearly Financial Report" on 26/02/2021 (document available to download).

Consolidated operating revenue for the first half of 2020-21 amounted to €190.2m (including transfers) versus €297.4m in 2019-20 (down 36%). Borussia Dortmund posted a net loss of €26.2m for the period, compared with a net profit of €2.9m for the same period in 2019-20.

"The decline is attributable primarily to the ongoing restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as scheduling delays resulting from the later start to the domestic and international club competitions.
