Serie A: beIN did not bid in the call for tenders for 2021-2024 TV rights in the MENA region

The Qatari pay-TV group beIN Media Group did not bid for the broadcasting rights to the Serie A TIM, the Coppa Italia or the Supercoppa Italiana, over the 2021-2024 cycle, in the MENA region, on 28/02/2021, according to information from SportBusiness and independently confirmed by News Tank Football.

beIN Media Group had also not applied for the international rights to the Lega Serie A outside the MENA region (where it was possible to make offers country by country) but could nevertheless make future offers in the territories where it is currently the broadcaster of the Italian championship (France, MENA, Turkey, Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines, East Timor) to an agency that may acquire the global rights.

The Middle East-North Africa regiona was the subject of a separate call for tenders for the Serie A's international rights. The Italian league had launched a global tender (excluding MENA) on 23/11/2020 (see details below).
