Euro 2020: 12,000 spectators (25% capacity) for the four matches scheduled in Bucharest (Romania)

The Romanian authorities accept the proposal of the Local Organising Committee to allow spectators access to the stands during the four Euro 2020 matches (list below), up to 25% of the total capacity of the Arena Națională/National Arena Bucharest (54,000 capacity, 48,000 in Euro 2020 configuration), announced the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) on 03/03/2021, 100 days before the opening match of the competition (Turkey - Italy in Rome, ITA, on 11/06/2021).

"The medical authorities and police services will approve all the necessary measures to ensure the total safety of the approximately 12,000 spectators attending each of the Euro 2020 matches. After approval by the public authorities, the project will be sent to UEFA at the beginning of April 2021 for approval," added the Federation.

"As a result of that and the fast-changing nature of the situation around the pandemic, the deadline for the submission of plans to accommodate fans inside the stadiums has been moved to early April," said UEFA on 27/01/2021.
