Bridgestone, a Japanese tyre and rubber company, joined the TOP (The Olympic Partner) programme of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) on 13/06/2014. The agreement goes through 2024.

The TOP programme, established in 1985 and managed by the IOC, provides exclusive marketing rights worldwide for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Bridgestone will supply its products to the IOC, and to the 204 National Olympic Committees and their teams. The company will equip the vehicles of athletes, media outlets and officials for transport operations during the Olympic Games in 2016 (Rio de Janeiro, BRA), 2018 (PyeongChang, KOR), 2020 (Tokyo, JAP), 2022 and 2024.

"The TOP programme is a truly global sponsorship programme, as it benefits all future Games organisers and all the National Olympic Committees and their athletes, ensuring that athletes from all over the world, and not just the largest countries, are able to compete at the Games. Indeed, the IOC redistributes over 90 per cent of its revenues to the wider sporting movement," said Thomas Bach, the IOC President.
