Portugal: Telecommunications operator Meo extends sponsorship of national team through 2018

Meo, the Portuguese telecommunications operator owned by Portugal Telecom, has extended its sponsorship of the Portuguese national team through 2017-18, the FPF (Portuguese Football Federation) announced on 16/06/2014. The new contract covers the Euro 2016 in France and the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Partnered with the FPF since 1998, Meo will continue to use players' images in its ad campaigns and in the launching of future products and services. It will also have display advertising in the stadiums where the Portuguese team plays.

Meo is the shirt sponsor for FC Porto, Benfica and Sporting Portugal (Liga Sagres, POR).

  • The Portuguese team extended its supplier contract with Nike on 03/03/2014 to last through 2017-18.
