LFP TV rights: Canal+ rejected by court, LFP hopes to quickly negotiate the 2021-2024 rights

"The LFP takes note of the decision of the Paris Commercial Court to dismiss all the requests from the companies Canal+ and beIN Sports France, thus acknowledging that the consultation (tender) launched by the League in January 2021 in no way violated the obligations imposed by the Sports Code and competition law, and that the LFP has not committed any discriminatory practice or abuse of a dominant position," stated the French Professional Football League on 11/03/2021.

"The Court in particular ruled that no legal provision required the LFP to take back all the rights granted to 'relaunch a complete call for tenders process' following the failure of Mediapro," added the LFP.
