Premier League: GWFX (China) extends shirt sponsorship of Swansea through 2015-16

The Chinese currency trader GWFX (Goldenway Forex) has extended its contract as the main shirt sponsor for Swansea City (12th in Premier League, 2014-13) for two seasons, the club announced on 18/06/2013. The parties are bound until the end of the 2015-16 season.

In the 2013-14 season, the Hong Kong-based company paid €2.3m for the central area of the shirt, which was the highest paying contract in the history of Swansea City. The amount of this new contract has not been disclosed, but Leigh Dineen, the president of the Welsh club, said it is higher than the previous season.

The contract was renegotiated by the British sports marketing agency SportQuake, and in particular targets supporters in Asia, who constitute 30% of the worldwide audience of the Premier League. The matches are broadcast live to 200m households in China.
