Covid-19: "We can look back with pride, we've made a big contribution" (R. Masters, Premier League)

"It's been a hell of a journey (the last 12 months disrupted by Covid-19). All that uncertainty, the huge challenges we've faced, the financial difficulties as well. Pretty much the whole nation has faced that combination of challenges, and football has been no different. It has been an incredible journey, but I think we can look back with some pride and say that we've made a big contribution," said Richard Masters, chief executive of the Premier League, in an interview published on the league's website on 12/03/2021, one year to the day after the decision to suspend the 2019-20 English league's season due to the pandemic.
