National teams: no matches outside Europe for foreign players in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2

"Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT clubs will not make foreign players called up for matches outside the EU/EEA (European Union/European Economic Area) zone available to national teams during the next international period in March (from 24 to 31/03/2021)," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 17/03/2021.

"On the initiative of the presidents of the Collèges de Ligue 1 (Jean-Pierre Caillot, Stade de Reims) and Ligue 2 (Christian Leca, AC Ajaccio), a consultation was carried out this Wednesday 17/03/2021 with all club presidents concerning players outside the French first team likely to take part in a match outside the EU/EEA zone during the next international period in March," explained the LFP (see full press release below).
