Video games: Neymar Jr. becomes the first athlete to have their own avatar on Fortnite

Epic Games, a US video game publisher, has entered into a licensing agreement with Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior to make the Brazilian player a playable character in the video game Fortnite, according to the Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) player via his Instagram account on 17/03/2021.

The Neymar Jr. avatar should be available in Chapter 2 of Fortnite Season 6 from 28/04/2021, according to US media reports. While 23 football clubs have been offering their shirts as skins in the game since 23/01/2021, this will be the first time an athlete will have a character of their own.

The game's 350 million users will be able to complete challenges within Fortnite to unlock the Brazilian player's avatar. Neymar Jr. is no stranger to the gaming world, as since 2020, the PSG player has been offering live streams via his Twitch channel (1.4 million subscribers).
