Turkey: "We want to play the Champions League final with spectators" (N. Özdemir, TFF)

"We are in talks with the (Turkish) Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Health. We will discuss the issue of playing the matches with spectators on 01/04/2021. One of the decisions we will take on 01/04/2021 is to play the Champions League final with spectators! We want the match to have spectators in the 76,000 capacity stadium," said Nihat Özdemir, president of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) on the set of beIN Sports Turkey, on 22/03/2021.

The 2021 Champions League Final will be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium (76,000 capacity) in Istanbul (TUR) on Saturday 29/05/2021. Istanbul, originally designated for the 2020 final, was awarded the 2021 edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic (the 2019-20 Champions League Final 8 was played in Lisbon, Portugal in August 2020).
