UEFA: 30% spectator attendance limit removed, visiting supporters remain banned

"The previously UEFA-imposed spectator attendance limit of a maximum of 30% of the relevant stadium's seating capacity is lifted," announced UEFA after its executive committee meeting held by videoconference on 31/03/2021.

"The committee decided that in light of the fact that each of UEFA's 55 members associations faces a different situation with regard to tackling the pandemic, such a cap is no longer needed and that the decision on the number of permitted spectators should fall under the exclusive responsibility of the relevant competent local/national authorities," said the European body, which specified that all decisions were made unanimously.

The UEFA executive committee has therefore revised its previous decision on 01/10/2020, according to which spectators for UEFA matches were permitted to be hosted up to a limit of 30% of the stadium's capacity. The ban on the presence of spectators at futsal matches has also been lifted.
