Africa: "Improvement of infrastructures will be a priority, detailed plan will be presented" (CAF)

"The improvement of several infrastructures will be a priority for CAF and a detailed plan will be presented at a short term," announced the Confederation of African Football at the end of a meeting of its executive committee, held by videoconference and chaired by CAF president Patrice Motsepe, on 30/03/2021.

"The general secretary (Véron Mosengo-Omba, SUI-COD) gave a report to the executive committee on the state of degradation of infrastructure in the African continent which do not or no longer offer the guarantees and aptitudes to host CAF competitions, in particular the Total Africa Cup of Nations," said CAF.

The CAF executive committee unanimously approved the proposed dates for the organisation of the draw (25/06/2021) and the final tournament of the Total AFCON Cameroon 2021 (from 09/01 to 06/02/2022).

CAF decided to postpone the AFCON initially planned in Cameroon at the beginning of 2021, by one year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on 30/06/2020
