Best Global Green Brands 2014: Adidas eighth, Nike 29th

Kit suppliers Adidas (Germany) and Nike (U.S.) were ranked 8th and 29th in the fourth annual Best Global Green Brands report, published by Interbrand, the world's leading advisor on brands, on 24/06/2014.

The ranking was devised by the audit firm Deloitte and analyses the gap between environmental performance and eco-responsibility practices of a brand, as well as the perception of the same by consumers, resulting in a "gap score". The impact of companies' environmental programmes is also taken into account.

Automakers Ford (1st), Toyota (2nd), Honda (3rd), and Nissan (4th) led the rankings.

Ranked 15th in 2013, Adidas joined the top 10 this year, while Nike moved up two spots, from the 31st to 29th.
