LaLiga/Mediapro: Real Sociedad - Athletic Club to be broadcast on Twitch in Spain on 07/04/2021

The Basque derby Real Sociedad de Futbol - Athletic Club Bilbao, on Matchday 29 of LaLiga Santander (Wednesday 07/04/2021, kick-off at 21:00 CET), will be broadcast on the Twitch (streaming platform) channels of LaLiga, the esports commentator Ibai Llanos (ESP) and the free DTT channel Gol (Mediapro group), according to the Spanish audiovisual group on 05/04/2021.

This is the first time that a LaLiga match will be broadcast on Twitch (initially specialised in video game and esports streaming). The platform had previously co-broadcast, in the UK, the four end-of-season ("Restart") matches of the 2019-20 Premier League (behind closed doors) for which the rights were held by its parent company Amazon.

The Basque derby will also be broadcast on the Spanish DTT channel Gol. The channel owned by the Mediapro group has been broadcasting one LaLiga Santander game free-to-air per matchday since the 2016-17 season (2016-2019 and 2019-2022 cycles). The remaining nine matches are broadcast on the Movistar LaLiga (Telefonica Group) pay-TV channels during the 2019-2022 cycle.
