Cordoba CF were promoted to Liga (Spanish first division) for the 2014-15 season after a 1-1 draw on the pitch of UD Las Palmas in the second-leg final of Liga Adelante (second division) on 22/06/2014. Cordoba will be promoted due to the away goals rule; the first leg of the finals had also finished in a draw (0-0, on 19/06/2014).

The Andalusian club had not played in Liga since the 1971-72 season, and will thus find themselves in the top league after 42 years of absence. The club joins SD Eibar and Deportivo La Coruna, the first and second teams in Liga Adelante that were thus directly promoted to Liga.

Cordoba CF finished seventh in the regular season of Liga Adelante and were one of four clubs in the qualifiers: Real Murcia (4th) Sporting de Gijon (5th), UD Las Palmas (6th) and Cordoba CF (7th). The FC Barcelona B team finished 3rd in the regular season, but cannot play in Liga.

Cordoba eliminated Real Murcia in the semifinals of the qualifiers (0-0, 1-2) and UD Las Palmas did the same with Sporting Gijon (1-0, 0-1).

La Liga 2014-15 season starts on 24/08/2014 and ends on…
