Rugby/Scotland: Peter Vardy jersey sponsor of the men's XV, BT remains Murrayfield's naming partner

Peter Vardy, a Scottish car dealership, is to become a principal partner (first level) of the Scottish Rugby and main jersey sponsor of its men's rugby union team "in a four year deal commencing in the summer of 2021," announced the body 07/04/2021. The car dealership was previously Scottish Rugby's car partner between 2014 and 2017.

Peter Vardy succeeds British pay-TV group BT, which on the same day extended its role as a principal partner of Scottish Rugby for three years until June 2024. While BT will become a neck sponsor of the men's XV and back jersey sponsor of the women's national team from 2021-22, it will remain the main shirt sponsor of the youth and rugby 7's teams.

BT has also extended the naming rights to Murrayfield Stadium ( 68,000 capacity), home of the Scottish national team, which it has held since 28/05/2014. The Federation did not indicate whether BT Group will also remain as the namer of the Scottish professional league (BT Premiership).
