With €155.5m in turnover in 2019-20, AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) are ranked 27^th in the Football Money League 2021, a ranking in which AS Roma (Serie A TIM) and their €141.2m in turnover do not feature (despite being ranked 16^th in the 2020 edition), as the two clubs prepare to each other behind closed doors in the first leg of their 2020-21 Europa League quarter-final at the Johan-Cruyff ArenA (Amsterdam, NED) on Thursday 08/04/2021 (kick-off 21:00 CET).

In terms of brand value, the "Football Annual 2020" ranking established by the American company Brand Finance (a specialist in the economic valuation of brands) and published in July 2020, sees AS Roma in 26^th place, just ahead of Ajax Amsterdam (27^th).

The Roman club has 16.5 million followers on social networks (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok, as of 08/04/2021), 4.3 million more than their Dutch rivals, who count 12.2 million.
