England: Wembley to host 8,000 spectators for the Carabao Cup Final on 25/04/2021

8,000 spectators will be allowed to attend the Carabao Cup Final - between the Premier League clubs Manchester City FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC - at Wembley Stadium (80,000 capacity, London, ENG) on Sunday 25/04/2021 (kick-off 16:30 local time, 17:30 CET), announced the English Football League, the body in charge of the competition, on 04/04/2021

The English league cup final is one of a list of test events selected by the UK government to assess the possibility of spectators returning to sports venues. The entire 2020-21 Premier League season has so far been played behind closed doors, with the exception of a few matches for which a maximum capacity of 2,000 spectators was allowed in December 2020 in certain stadiums.

"As part of the Events Research Programme, the Carabao Cup Final will be one of a number of sports events used to collect evidence and collate best practice for managing and mitigating transmission risk. The evidence will then be shared across the event economy so that venues can prepare to accommodate fuller crowds and audiences," said the EFL.
