UEFA: Javier Tebas (ESP) to join executive committee as European Leagues representative

Javier Tebas Medrano, president of LaLiga, has been nominated by European Leagues as its representative on the UEFA executive committee for the next four years, announced the Spanish professional league on 12/04/2021.

The appointment, which has already been approved by the LaLiga Delegate Committee, must be ratified at the 45^th Ordinary UEFA Congress scheduled in Montreux (SUI) on 20/04/2021.

Javier Tebas will succeed Lars-Christer Olsson (SWE), outgoing European Leagues president and former president of the Swedish Professional Football League. At the head of European Leagues, the position of president was replaced by a four-member management board at the general assembly on 26/03/2021.

Javier Tebas is a member of the board, along with Mathieu Moreuil (FRA, Premier League), Claus Thomsen (DEN, Divisionsforeningen) and Claudius Schäfer (SUI, Swiss Football League).

European Leagues' board of directors also approved the appointment of Claus Thomsen (DEN) as "chair for the meetings of both European Leagues board of directors and management board," announced the body on 12/04/2021.
