Real Madrid CF: Florentino Pérez, sole candidate, re-elected president for a 6^th term until 2025

Florentino Pérez has been re-elected president of Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) for a new four-year term until 2025, after the electoral committee met and established that there were no other candidates, according to the Spanish club on 13/04/2021.

"In the event of there being only one valid candidacy, its members shall be proclaimed, without further ado, as members of the new board of directors," states Article 40 (Section E, point 2) of Real Madrid's Statutes.

The Spanish businessman, CEO of the ACS Group (construction), had asked the electoral committee to initiate the procedure for holding elections for the president and board of Real Madrid on 01/04/2021, as his mandate was due to expire in June 2021.

Florentino Pérez, 74, has been president of Real Madrid since June 2009. He also held the same position from 2000 to 2006. However, the club's socios have not gone to the polls since 2006 and Ramon Calderon's victory.
