AS Saint-Étienne: an investment bank commissioned by B. Caïazzo and R. Romeyer to sell the club

"AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) has an original model with a human-sized shareholding. It is the only major French club that does not belong to an international financial power. This is its strength and also, in a way, its weakness. This is why we must prepare for the future," said Bernard Caïazzo and Roland Romeyer, majority shareholders of the club, in an open letter published in the French regional daily Le Progrès on 14/04/2021.

"Therefore, in order to ensure the continuity and development of our club, we have entrusted a reputable investment bank with the mission of selecting the best investor. We will make sure that this new shareholder has the adequate means to make the club grow, guarantee employment and perpetuate its identity. We will be vigilant in ensuring that the handover is carried out in a confidential and calm manner," said the two directors.
