Environment: VfL Wolfsburg, most committed club according to Bundesliga Sustainability Table 2021

"The British organisation Sport Positive Leagues, which supports global sports organisations in optimising their climate change measures, has recognised VfL Wolfsburg's (Bundesliga) intensive commitment to sustainability and ecology," announced the German club on 07/04/2021. VfL Wolfsburg is thus in first place in the "Bundesliga Sustainability Table 2021", a ranking based on German clubs' commitment to the environment, published by Sport Positive the same day.

The ranking is based on eight criteria: clean energy, energy efficiency, transport, reduction of single-use plastics, waste management, efficient water management, plant-based and carbon-neutral food, communication and commitment to sustainability. VfL Wolfsburg received the maximum score of 21 points, ahead of 1. FC Köln (2^nd with 20 points) and FC Bayern Munich and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (3^rd, 17 points).
