Euro 2020: Rome (ITA) confirmed as host city after guaranteeing 25% capacity at the Stadio Olimpico

"UEFA has today received from the Italian Football Association (FIGC), confirmation from the Italian government that the UEFA Euro 2020 matches scheduled for the Stadio Olimpico in Rome (see list below), will take place with spectators. The authorities have guaranteed at least 25% of the stadium capacity will be filled. As a result, UEFA considers Rome to be fully confirmed as a venue for the tournament," announced the European body on 14/04/2021.

"Italy and Rome are ready! It's great news that the government has given the all-clear for Rome to host matches at Euro 2020, and we'll immediately be informing UEFA," said Gabriele Gravina, president of the FIGC, earlier the same day.

Rome is the ninth of the 12 Euro 2020 host cities to guarantee UEFA that matches will not be played behind closed doors, after Saint Petersburg (RUS), Budapest (HUN), Baku (AZE), Amsterdam (NED), Bucharest (ROU), Copenhagen (DEN), Glasgow (SCO) and London (ENG), as reported by UEFA on 09/04/2021.
