Ligue 1: Paris Saint-Germain open new Academy in New York

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1) are launching a Paris Saint-Germain Academy in New York (USA), the club announced on 24/6/2014.

Paris SG also inaugurated a football school in Rio de Janeiro (BRA) on 09/06/2014.

In New York, 77 players aged five to 16 years old will participate in the first workshop, which lasts five days. The Paris Saint-Germain Academy in New York is working in collaboration with Universal Soccer Camps, a local academy that welcomes more than 500 children per year, and was established in 2009 by two French entrepreneurs, including Zohair Ghenania, who will also lead the Paris Academy.

From 24/06 to 29/08/2014, the Paris Saint-Germain Academy in New York will offer four five-day workshops on pitches in Randall's Island, just off Manhattan, and in Bridge Park Pier 5 in Brooklyn. In September it will open a year-round soccer school offering training for young local players.
