FC Schalke 04: VR-Bank Westmünsterland (bank) extends partnership for 2021-2024

VR-Bank Westmünsterland, a German cooperative bank, is to continue as a partner of FC Schalke 04 (Bundesliga) for an additional three seasons (2021-2024), announced the club on 15/04/2021.

VR-Bank Westmünsterland, a sponsor of FC Schalke 04 since 2005-06, will continue to benefit from the status of "partner", the third level in the German club's sponsorship hierarchy. The group's logo will continue to be displayed on signage at the Veltins-Arena as well as on FC Schalke's communication supports.

Despite financial and sporting difficulties (last in the Bundesliga on 16/04/2021 after 28 matches with two wins, seven draws and 19 losses), the German club has also secured its partnership with its main shirt sponsor Gazprom until 2024-25, in return for a reduction in the amount of money paid from €20m to €10m per season in the event of relegation.
