Formula 1: Miami Grand Prix (Florida) made official, 2 races in the United States in 2022

Formula One Management formalised the holding of the new Miami Grand Prix (Florida, USA) from 2022, on 18/04/2021. With the Austin Grand Prix (in Texas, organised since 2012), the United States will therefore host two races in 2022.

The route of this 5.41 km Grand Prix (19 turns) is drawn around the Hard Rock Stadium (65,326 seats), the grounds of the Miami Dolphins (NFL), in the area of Miami Gardens. This sports complex also hosts the ATP Miami Masters 1000. Stephen Ross, owner of the Miami Dolphins, and Tom Garfinkel, franchise CEO and president of Hard Rock Stadium, are the promoters of the Grand Prix in Miami.

Although the exact race date has yet to be confirmed, F1 president Stefano Domenicali said he expected the first race of a 10-year deal to take place at second quarter of 2022," specified Formula One Management.
