Super League: Andrea Agnelli, vice-chairman of "The Super League", resigns from ECA and UEFA

Andrea Agnelli, chairman of Juventus FC (Serie A TIM), resigned from his role as chairman of the ECA and also from his duties as member of the UEFA Executive Committee, to become vice-chairman of "The Super League", a company created to organise a new European competition, as announced by 12 major European clubs (see list below) on 18/04/2021.

Andrea Agnelli has been chairman of the European Club Association since September 2017, and was re-elected for the 2019-2023 period on 10/09/2019. The Italian leader had been a member of the UEFA Executive Committee since September 2017 as a club representative. ECA and UEFA strongly disapprove of the creation of a Super League, they both announced on 19/04/2021.
