Ed Woodward, executive vice-president of Manchester United FC (Premier League), will step down at the end of 2021, the English club said on 20/04/2021. He became executive vice-chairman in 2012, after having joined Manchester United in 2005.

In question, undoubtedly, is his involvement in the project of 12 big European clubs for a Super League, announced on 18/04/2021, and of which the six English clubs - including Manchester United - disassociated themselves on 20/04/2021.

"Manchester United will not be participating in the European Super League. We have listened carefully to the reaction from our fans, the UK government and other key stakeholders. We remain committed to working with others across the football community to come up with sustainable solutions to the long-term challenges facing the game," the club on 20/04/2021.
