Liverpool FC: Tribus (watchmaker) opposes Super League project and breaks partnership

Tribus, a manufacturer of luxury watches, has broken its partnership with Liverpool FC (Premier League) in the face of the club's initial desire to found the Super League, a new format of European competition originally carried out by 12 of the continent's biggest clubs on 18/04/2021, announced the Swiss watchmaker on 20/04/2021.

"As the official global timing partner of Liverpool FC, and a family of dedicated life-long fans in the city of Liverpool, Tribus cannot support the move by the club's to break away into a new competition, the Super League," said Tribus. Hours later, Liverpool FC withdrew from the project (20/04/2021), and the Super League was abandoned by nine more of its founding clubs the following day. Despite this, Tribus confirmed the termination of its partnership on 21/04/2021.

Tribus had become a global partner (fourth level) of Liverpool FC following an agreement on 09/09/2020. The partnership was to last until 2022-23.
