UEFA: €417.8m in commercial revenue generated in 2019-20, down 12.5% (€478m in 2018-19)

€417.8m is the turnover generated by UEFA from commercial rights over the financial year 2019-20 hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced the postponement of Euro 2020 by one year, according to the body in its Financial Report published on 20/04/2021.

This amount, down 12.5% compared to 2018-19 (€478m), represents 13.7% of the €3.038bn collected by UEFA in 2019-20 (-21.2% versus 2018-19, €3.857bn). €2.417bn was redistributed to European clubs and associations (79.5% of the total).

Revenues from media rights amounted to €2.593bn (85.4% of total turnover), down 13.8% compared to 2018-19 (€3.01bn).

The Champions League and European Super Cup alone generated €2.415bn in commercial and media revenue, or 79.4% of UEFA's total revenues in 2019-20. In detail, these two competitions brought in €2.05bn in media rights and €363.6m in commercial rights.
